History

Isara’s origins begin not in mortality but as a dream. Ages ago, Isara dwelled in the Realm of Dreams during a time when the world was plagued by relentless suffering and strife. In these dark times, Isara could feel people’s pain as they carried their anguish into the Realm of Dreams.

A figure emerged, moving from village to village, healing the sick and tending to the afflicted. Religious scholars believe this figure to have been Isara in mortal form. Unable to bear the suffering any longer, she came to the mortal realm. Legends say she possessed those who were willing, using their mortal forms to bring light and hope to the darkest corners of the world.

As her deeds and compassion spread, so did her influence. Stories of miraculous recoveries and the transformative power of her touch became widespread. Eventually, when Isara finally left the mortal world, she did not return home. Instead, she ascended to divinity through the sheer force of her benevolence and the collective faith of those she had healed. Now a nether god, she continues to guide and protect, her essence infused in every act of kindness and every effort to heal.

Over the centuries, Isara’s followers have established numerous sanctuaries and hospitals in her name. The Shield of Mercy

A sect focused on protection and defense, the Shield of Mercy members act as guardians for the vulnerable. They often accompany humanitarian missions, ensuring the safety and well-being of those providing aid.

The Chantry of Tranquility

Devoted caregivers and doctors who heal the sick, the traumatized, and the voiceless. They guide others to pursue their dreams for a better life. The Chantry members wear masks to symbolize selflessness and anonymity, ensuring focus remains on their mission. While they do not advocate violence, they use guile and trickery against those who threaten the people they protect.

Campaign Updates

Travelers out of Amulta put Isara where an Idiran would put the Martyr (the goddess you pray to over a sickbed), and the party worked out the two faiths cover the same ground for different people (S4E44). In Idir and Peredhel the Martyr holds that place, and holds it third, behind Lady Eravil and Krelene.
