A mercantile clan of Draazstone. Other clans there do the digging, and this one moves what they dig to market, so a stamp on a bar of metal out of those mountains says whose hands carried it rather than whose pick cut it.

That stamp is most of what the company has. It sits on the Draz Steel ingot handed unpriced to Mikhail by the three Draazstone callers, one of whom, Mazhira, is of the House and carries its name. Hinta read the ingot as an invitation rather than a payment: arrive at their homes and you would be welcomed and treated as a guest, and being treated as a guest there is not the same thing it is anywhere else.

Her face pursed when the name was said. She has history with the House, which Mikhail already knew and did not open. The one good word she had for any of the three was for this one: they were the most pleasant of the group, and she allowed that it was a low bar.
