Bleed-prolonging blade

Nobody in the party ever saw it. It is known from the wounds it left in Casper, whom Ashtara Walnut caught tailing her and stabbed close enough to death that Koa, digging him out of the ruins, carried him across town and, finding the herbalist’s shop locked, broke the door off its hinges to get him inside.

Gwenivere Velmont was already in the shop. She got him stable and could not get him to stop bleeding. She used blood block, and a great deal of it, and every wound went on opening of its own accord. That was the blade, she said: a weapon made on purpose to keep a man bleeding. She warned them too that healing would flatter the injuries from here on, that once the gashes closed to shallow cuts nobody looking at Casper would be able to tell how near a thing it had been.

What it was, who made it, and where it went afterward was never discovered, and the blade itself was never recovered. Casper lived. The Chantry took him in and gave him a mask, and after that he had no name there at all.
