Fourteen pounds of two-handed war-sledge, bought off Hinta for four gold
A heavy two-handed sledge, uncommon in Idir, made for breaking things rather than cutting them. Hinta had it in her shop and called it a canabo: a studded club of the Karak, she said, the blood-drinking peoples of the far east, who have martial styles of their own.
It is not that. Whatever a canabo is, this is a weapon of the mountains, and Hinta’s knowledge of the far east came to her secondhand. A year later somebody put the question to Koa directly (you didn’t get it from the east, did you?), and the answer was no. It is an earthbreaker.
He paid for it with four gold and a cutlass he had seen atrocities done with and would not carry any longer, and commissioned a morning star from her apprentice at the same time. The earthbreaker was meant to hold him over until that was finished, and it did. It was the weapon in his hands through the Silver Web, through Vigil, and into Wraithblade Keep, until the morning star finally came back done.
