Koa's compass
A flawless compass, given by a widow with two words of instruction
Phillipa came to Koa the morning after her husband was buried and gave him this, two potions, and two words: no mercy. It was thanks for bringing two of her people home alive.
It is a very good compass. A man who knew compasses took one look, stepped around to put himself between it and the street, and asked who had given it to him. Flawless, he said, and worth a lot of money. Ten gold, near enough, before you count the box it came in.
Koa has kept it and used it. It has held the party’s line through the eastern woods, plotted an easy way back out of the slaver cave, and put the sealed crack under the Haudh-Gwenn ruins exactly where it turned out to be: squarely beneath the house next door.
