Mól silver coins
Oversized Empire mint, near-pure silver: worth far more as proof than as money
Seven of them came out of a storage chest in the Valley of Doom, spilled from a rotted pouch among rusted oversized swords and a flaying dagger. Nearly pure silver, struck bigger than anything in circulation now, and seven centuries old.
Their face value is beside the point. What they are worth is what they prove: that the person holding them has been somewhere nobody goes, and come back. Bitten by a smith who wanted to know if the Mól weapons on her bench were genuine, they answered for the weapons. Offered to hobgoblin poachers over three stolen eagle eggs, three of them bought the eggs. The rest went the same way over the seasons: to Hinta as payment, to Kurvroc as courtesy, to a gem-cutter on consignment, and one melted down into a pot for a ritual.
More Mól coin came out of the Haudh-Gwenn ruins later (gold, silver and copper), and nobody kept the original seven apart from the rest after that.
