The wyvern-stinger dagger
A blade of dark sheened bone or chitin rather than metal, cut at Draazstone from a wyvern's stinger and carrying one use of the venom it was taken from
Not metal. The blade is a very dark brown and sheened like something grown rather than something forged, bone or chitin depending on who is handling it, with ruddy scaled leather wrapped at the grip and a small bulge at the base like a cyst. It was cut at Draazstone out of a wyvern’s stinger. Asked what the stinger had come off, Brindle pointed at the sky.
There is one use of the venom left in it, and the years have changed it in two directions at once. It is easier to resist than fresh wyvern poison. It is also harder to be rid of, because shaking it takes two clean saves running rather than one, and until then it does everything fresh venom does.
Brindle had it from the man who kept the Wyvern’s Tale before him, and across both their tenures neither ever had to draw it to protect the place. He brought it out to Koa on the day Ridh burned, with one arm charred in the fire and the last of the village walking south. “May the heavens watch over you.” Koa wrapped it very carefully before he would let it anywhere near his person.
