Terrane - family
Terrane is not itself a language: it is the family whose runes were once the most widespread in Erôth
STANDING: TERRANE · THE FAMILY ITSELF
Terrane is not itself a language. It is instead a language family, and it is named for a people many in Erôth are not persuaded ever existed.
The general survey of the tongues of Erôth is blunt about that: whatever is believed of them, the Terrane are real, and their ancient runic alphabet was once the most widespread in all of Erôth. It is not the most widespread now. How it fell out of use was never written down.
Three tongues are counted in the family. Gigant is spoken by ogres, giants and trolls, Jazyk by the Terrane themselves, and Jeskyně by the creatures of the Underôth, who alone among the three do not write it.
