The safe rock
The large boulder south of the Twisted Grove, and the camp the Valiant Few have kept coming back to on that road
The safe rock is a large boulder standing south of the razorleaf-choked keep at the Twisted Grove, most of the way between the ruins and the bandit encampment the Valiant Few cleared in their first season. It is their standing camp on that road. They have stopped at it many times and they have never stopped for less than a day.
Walking home from the Grove after the curses broke, they made three quarters of the way to it by sunset and then held there for a whole day of recovery, because the horses could not take a forced march. The woods around it had changed. There had always been a lethal stillness in that country, and what sat over it now was an ordinary one: a small animal moved through ground that would have killed it a week earlier, and nothing came in the night.
