Captain of the guard of Veren, and a man the Valiant Few only ever heard about. His name came up when Dwayne was asked who might be got to take charge of the defenses at the Crack. Competent, Dwayne said, and likely able to help with something of that kind. Nobody else in the room had heard of him. Dwayne’s own caution was that asking any sitting captain to leave his post with the gnolls abroad was a dangerous thing to ask.

The letter went east addressed to him and to Hanza together, on the company’s reckoning that she was the likelier yes because he already held a position. He answered for both of them. No for himself, without giving a reason, and his sign-off for her.
