"Raven"

The lash tattoos worn by Captain Torr’s crew were all cut by one hand, and that hand goes by Raven. It is a moniker, and no other name was ever offered for it.

All of it comes from Torr, on a dark stretch of Forven waterfront, while he was working Mikhail toward a berth on his boat. Asked who had done the work, he called the artist an old friend he had bumped into and offered to make the introduction, then held the name back until he had traded his own for it. What he finally gave was not a name either. Pressed for where, he said Haudh-Gwenn, and that has only ever been his claim.

Mikhail said the artist did not sound like the person he was after, which was a pretext to get away, and left. The company came back to the thread months later while planning the Haudh-Gwenn work, put the tattoo artist on the list of leads worth running down, and never ran it down.
