Lord / Lady Grayeras: private titles
Titles the Grayeras use inside their own house and nowhere else, carrying no legal standing anywhere in Idir
Guests at the Grayeras estate were announced into the sitting room one at a time, the councilors by their office and the master of the house as “High Counselor and Lord of the House.” His wife was announced as Lady Grayeras. Outside those walls neither title is used at all: they belong to the family’s own ceremony and go no further than its gate.
Nothing obliges anyone to use them in the first place. Titles of that kind carry no legal standing anywhere in Idir, and almost none in Peredhel, where a handful of conquered regions still keep them as leftovers of whoever ruled there before. What Traxian actually holds is the other half of the announcement: High Councilman on the council of Haudh-Gwenn, a seat with a double vote attached to it. Alyphe holds a seat of her own. Lord and Lady are what the house calls them when the doors are shut.
