Mól inner-plane soul-cosmology

The Mól teaching that a soul joins the inner planes at death, and the heresy that tried to hurry it

STANDING: LORE · DOCTRINE · MÓL COSMOLOGY ◆ CURSE-TOUCHED

The Mól held that a soul is meant to join the inner planes at death, and that the timing is the whole of the teaching. A soul arrives when its life is finished with it, and arriving early is theft.

Clan Saytar, the emperor’s own and the Empire’s alchemists, took the view that the passage could be hurried. Their work accelerated souls into elemental form while their owners were still alive. The Empire’s clergy, an order drawn from every clan and belonging to none, named it heresy, and their objection was not that it failed. It was that it worked: a soul hauled several rungs up the ladder ahead of its time and against its own will.

That sacrilege sits under the curses. Mikhail found it in the great library at Vigil in S5E53, a month’s reading that took in the Wraithblade curse and turned this up underneath it. How the work was done, when, and to how many was never written down, and the Saytar laboratories have never been found.
