Orders and Sects

Order of the Equinox

The Order of the Equinox is dedicated to the celebration and preservation of natural balance. Members of this order are often druids and nature priests who work to protect ecosystems and educate others about the importance of harmony in nature.

The Even Hand

The Even Hand answers to the second tenet rather than the first. Its members sit as mediators: in land disputes, in inheritances, in quarrels between a village and whatever it shares a river with. They take no fee from either side, on the grounds that a paid judgment is already weighted, and they are known for refusing cases in which they have any interest at all. Where they cannot broker a settlement they will say so plainly and withdraw, which followers hold to be the harder half of the work.

Root and Rot

The smallest of the three, and the most bookish. Root and Rot takes the god’s own symbol as its subject, the tree grown through with fungi, and studies the point at which decay stops being an ending and becomes the thing that feeds what comes next. Its members keep records of blights, floods, lean years and their recoveries, sometimes across generations, on the argument that nobody can recognize an imbalance who has not first learned what the balance looked like.
