Order of the Red Haze

A faith-order out of Yovance, known in Idir by its weapon and by almost nothing else. The weapon is the aspergillum: a perforated head on a haft, made to sprinkle holy water a little at a time and built solidly enough at the head to be swung as a mace. It is clergy’s equipment before it is a fighting man’s, and rare enough this far east that Koa had to ask what the holes in Aldo’s were for. Nothing like it turns up among the Free Folk.

Aldo had carried his, battered, for years before anyone looked closely enough to find the Order’s own mark on it, faded almost out of the metal. He had never noticed it. Where the Order’s houses stand, and whose faith it keeps, never reached Idir.
