Stalingrad family
Crossbow smiths of Galderia, whose trade is not the finest bow but the one most can be hung on
Crossbow smiths of Galderia. Across Idir and Peredhel a Stalingrad carries a fine reputation, and among Galderians it does not sit at the top. Merchants out of the country will say so plainly: other families there build a better single weapon.
What the Stalingrads build instead is the bow that can be added to. Theirs are made to take fittings, and the fittings are the trade, so a man buying one is buying what he can hang on it afterward: a winch for hauling a tethered bolt back in, a case, a flint-strike kit for setting a bolt alight. Aldo carries a recent pattern. Hinta named it on sight, having heard about that very model from Galderian merchants who came through Loshev a few months before he walked in with it.
The method is held inside the family and has been for generations. No Stalingrad has ever been met, and where in Galderia they keep their benches was never written down.
