Aldo commissioned it from Hinta, who considered the work beneath her and made it perfectly regardless. The design is beautiful, and the grip fell into his hand the first time he lifted it.

The mechanism is the point of it. It slides open, takes holy water, and holds the charge closed, so the water is already in the head before it is wanted: he can loose it as a free action ahead of an attack rather than as a movement of its own. What it will not do is keep. The thing is metal and vented rather than a sealed bladder, so water left sitting in it drains away over a day or two.
