Beltran's boots
Boots that carry a fall of thirty feet or less down onto its feet, and do nothing whatever above that
Stripped off the body with the armor in the burning Color Stay, stacked on a table, and identified the next morning with the rest of the effects. Faint transmutation, and the plainest thing taken off him. Fall thirty feet or less and you land on your feet and take the least damage a fall of that height can do. Above thirty feet the enchantment does not weaken; it is simply not there, and you go down like anybody else.
They went to Aldo for his climbing and his spider-climb work, at Koa’s insistence, and he had them in use inside a day: off the back of a draft horse at a gallop, a thunder bolt into the middle of the enemy line, and down onto the ground rolling and running to reload.
They were packed away rather than worn exactly once. The party paid a courtesy call on the Grayeras council so that skipping it would not read as a slight, and Beltran’s boots were not going to be worn onto Grayeras ground.
