Koa's electrum enhancement rings / discs

Two discs of electrum out of Wraithblade Keep, each of which clings to the base of a blade just above the crossguard, where the electrum core runs, and works through it. Worn, a ring lays a thin skin of force along the edge, so that what the sword strikes is put down rather than opened. Koa pays none of the usual clumsiness of striking to subdue for it; he pays half the damage instead. Taking one on or off is a moment’s work, and it will sit there as long as he leaves it.

Only one will hold at a time. The second, added to the first, ought to give the blow its full weight back and keep it non-lethal still, but the sword has not the charge in it for both, and what would give it more has not been found. There is a slot cut for a stone, and Gemsmith has one waiting.

Hinta named them Mól work: rings that come on and off where a set stone is fixed for good, and a design that to her eye implies a third. No third has been found, and neither has the upgrade that would let two sit together. One of the pair parts into halves whose etched faces line up into markings. Nobody has read them.

They fit more than one blade of his: the restored Mól bastard sword takes them as readily.
