Tazion

Tazion belongs to no language family. The general survey of the tongues of Erôth gives its usual speakers as Taziondale and Vala, and holds that it is written as well as spoken. That pairing puts it on both sides of a border, since Vala is a province of Peredhel and Taziondale lies beyond its mountains.

Koa Attila’s family come out of Taziondale, and he has the tongue. So has Aldo, flawlessly, and spoken that well it gets taken as a claim of kin. Aldo greeted Professor Ashanti al-Hassan in Tazion across Gwenivere Velmont’s counter, and she took him for a countryman and embraced him on the spot as a brother out of Taziondale. She has called him her Tazion friend ever since, and has gone after his family and his origins across a tavern table with more persistence than he cares for. Koa, watching that, began to wonder whether Aldo was Galderian at all.

Aldo keeps a Taziondale-native persona and has worn it through Haudh-Gwenn and after, and Ashanti speaks to it in Tazion as a matter of course. He has the words. What he has not got is the culture standing behind them.
