The warehouse stands on the river in Haudh-Gwenn under the Azrak house sigil, and what was stacked inside it while the hospitals were running on empty was a hoard of medical supplies. Asiya Azrak’s daughter Khadija found the stores listed in her mother’s old ledgers and began carting them to the wards herself, load by load, without asking.
The breastplate mercenary had been contracted to take Khadija, hold her a few weeks and give her back unharmed. He jimmied the warehouse lock, leaving scratches of both force and finesse around it, and lay up inside waiting for her to come back for a second cartload. Aldo picked the damaged lock on his second attempt and got the drop on him instead, and Khadija walked up with her supply cart in the middle of the negotiation that followed.
The council afterward voted to record what she had taken as her mother’s generous wartime donation. Asiya voted aye last.
