Haudh-Gwenn barracks
The old civic fallback a councilor in danger would once have run to, until Beltran put it to some other use
The barracks is an old place of safety in Haudh-Gwenn, and for a long time it was where a councilor in danger would have gone. Beltran Grayeras changed what it was for. What he changed it to was never written down, but it was enough that when Johanka Materai lay in a clinic bed listing the council’s fallback points for the Valiant Few, she named the town hall and the councilors’ own houses and the bank, and struck the barracks off herself. Nobody would flee there now.
It is not the garrison on the river, and it is not the Garrison Fields out on the city’s outskirts where the military barracks and the training grounds are. It is a third building with a third history.
