Haudh-Gwenn guard station

The guard station stands in the wealthy district of Haudh-Gwenn, and it is where the guard rallied first when the city turned on them. It broke too fast. What was left in it afterward was a few holdouts and everything the guard had ever written down about the city, and both were still in there.

That made it worth more than the fighting suggested. The reports alone would have told the resistance what the guard knew, and a tower in the good part of town would have given Lady Talia Salahaudhi a real seat of command in place of the tavern she was running an uprising out of. The rising was divided over whether to spend anything on it, and it was left untaken.

Talia had the means to end it and would not use them. She keeps a couple of sticks of Dragon’s fire passed down through her family, and one or two of those down a chimney would have finished the holdouts in a night. Her choice instead was to sit on the place until its defenders ran out of water and food and opened the door themselves, on the grounds that these people could be rehabilitated afterward.

It is a third place, and neither the garrison on the river nor the old civic barracks.
