The Plates
The drawn survey of Erôth: one plate, twenty-five named regions from Ustos to Angband, and a scale bar that runs to a thousand miles
The continent has been drawn once, in iron gall, on the one sheet that shows every named region at the same time. Twenty-five of them are on the plate, from Ustos in the west to Angband in the far northeast, with the Nahr Al-Bahr laid down in silt and Idir at the center.
What the sheet is good for is proportion. Peredhel and its provinces sit south and west of Idir, Eldamar is the green sweep north, and Amulta lies west, past Yovincia and short of Escaria.
East of all that the ground hardens. The Barren Lands and the Ashlands run out toward Kijinxi and the Daelands, the quarter that is only ever heard about second-hand. Verex is placed in Kijinxi and the Karruk in the Barren Lands, and neither has been seen by anybody who wrote it down.
The scale bar runs to a thousand miles. The road from Loshev to Haudh-Gwenn, which the company has been working since it set out, is a short mark near the middle of the sheet.
