Alex Westwood

Alex Westwood was one of the oldest members of Loshev’s council, known for a sharp business sense and a network of contacts running from Meshtes to Haudh-Gwenn. Over the years they built a reputation as a shrewd entrepreneur who handled trade deals and kept Loshev well connected and prosperous from the south. They stayed active and influential despite their age, and spent the experience on the town’s economy and its politics.

Their surname came from the small thorp in the woods southwest of Haudh-Gwenn where they grew up.

Campaign Updates

The end came inside a single day. The Loshev council was moving too slowly to save the abducted boy Cleven Gemsmith, so the party bought speed from Nathan Fox: he would expedite the trial and reform the town in exchange for a council seat, and the seat he named was Westwood’s. Fox supplied the lever as well: years of correspondence tying Westwood through Haudh-Gwenn to slave-trading businessmen in Meshtes. Koa, who had spent that season pulling people out of slaver cages, heard it and put hands on them. They were an old person and did not take it well. A rib cracked against the wall, and partway through signing the resignation the breath went out of them altogether.

The party burned their last healing potion on them, which kept a murder charge off themselves and got the letter signed and carried to High Councilman Nikolas Rook. They died overnight of internal wounds on the 27th of Lindra, 671 AYR, at Loshev. Because they had delivered the resignation themselves, nobody looked for foul play, and the death was recorded as natural causes (S1E05).

Nobody disputed the ruling. Whether anybody believed it was never written down.

The land outside their name outlived them. Beltran Grayeras bought ground at Westwood from the estate and began digging a smuggling tunnel there toward the Crack, which was never finished.
