Dīk Rūmī
A large, ugly, ground-walking bird of the cold forests of the southeast, whose feathers are the fletcher's stock for arrows
STANDING: BEAST · THE FORESTED SOUTHEAST
The dīk rūmī is a big, ugly bird that keeps to the ground. It belongs to the cold and heavily forested southeast, around Rast, in the woods that run on from there into the Barren Lands.
What it is worth is on its back. Its feathers are large and stiff, and a fletcher will pay for them: they are the prized stock for arrows, and no good at all on a crossbow bolt, which is built differently and takes a different feather. A single feather picked up after a fight placed one of Beltran’s hired killers by where he had come from, and the Valiant Few are carrying it still.
