Beltran's six independent sellswords

Alongside his army Beltran Grayeras hired six killers to work in concert with it and apart from it. They took no ground and held none. They were pointed at people, and their orders read as one plan: remove the councilors who would vote against him, blackmail or curse the ones who could be turned, and burn the places where the council met.

Leon Yaegar was the one who told the Valiant Few that they existed, and he kept the company off the battlefield to hunt them instead, on the grounds that none of the three had the training to stand in a line and that falling in badly would cost more than it gained. His scouts could describe four of the six. The other two were filled in later.

• Khudan: the bugbear tracker, taken alive, turned, and exiled from Idir.
• The breastplate mercenary: surrendered on terms, handed to the councilor Asiya Azrak, and sent to Magadan.
• The erratic woman: a practitioner working outside Arcane Congress law, which is why Leon classed her as a thing to kill from range before she finished a syllable. She was captured, and then killed.
• Durat “the Green Goblin”: still loose, and already holding stolen blackmail material.
• Kaji: the surviving arsonist of the two, surrendered and handed to the guard.
• “Tar”: the other arsonist, killed.
