He was the smarter of them, and the one who kept the job ledger and mixed what they burned with. When Koa came raging down the hallway of the stolen rowhouse he threw an alchemist’s fire at him and missed. Koa turned on him and killed him with a single blow of the greatsword. He bled out where he had fallen while the rest of the fight went on above him, and nobody noticed until it was over. Told of it afterward, Kaji fought the ropes in earnest.
