Thirteen months, seven-day weeks, and years counted from the founding of Peredhel
The reckoning used across Erôth is Fajr Al-Peren, worked out by the Peren while they were still settling the earliest borders of their land. It counts from the founding of the kingdom. Years before that founding are BYR, Before Year of Reckoning, said aloud as beer; years after are AYR, said as ayer.
The year runs to thirteen months of four seven-day weeks.

Every day is named for something in the sky, or for someone worth remembering.

Alnsday is the week’s rest-day. Most business closes for it, and a traveler who needs a tailor or an apothecary that morning had better know a councilman.
The name is a worn contraction of Awalan’s day, and both forms are current. The short one is what appears on a calendar — where the rest-day is printed first, ahead of the week it closes — and the long one is what people reach for when the day is being held against someone. Of all the days, you choose Awalan’s day to act like this in public.

Two holidays interrupt the count. Eravilia falls at the turn into the first month, honoring Lady Eravil Dark Eyes. Shahid comes once in four years, between the sixth month and the seventh, and honors the Martyr.
The months are held to be named for gods, as the days are, though the derivations have worn down past proving. Lindra and Thalindra, Ueyae and Ueyar, Jert and Jerta are the ones people point at.
Campaign Updates
Peredhel was declared a sovereign nation in the year the calendar counts from, which makes it six hundred and seventy-one years old in the autumn of AYR 671. Loshev was founded in 436 AYR.
The party’s first day together is the 14th of Lindra, AYR 671: early autumn, and a market town where three strangers are about to have a very bad week.
