The curse-break was seen across Idir

The morning the three keeps fell, Idir changed and lit aglow, and only some of the people standing in it saw anything at all

Shortly after sunrise on the morning the three keeps broke, Idir changed. The whole country seemed to light aglow, and there was a change in it besides the light. Everybody else saw an ordinary morning.

Amergin Innis had crossed into Idir only weeks before, saw it, and wrote the date down in his notebook. He put his having seen it down to keen eyes, his own and the company’s, taking for granted that anyone who had been near the business would have seen it too. Lady Talia saw it as well, away south in Haudh-Gwenn, and put it more carefully: the land around her looked different for a little while, not everybody noticed, but she did. Nobody asked her how, and she offered her lineage anyway, as a guess rather than an answer.

Why one person saw it and the next did not was never discovered. Asked outright whether the light had been their doing, Mikhail said the company had been indisposed at the time and would have to look into it. He was believed, and Amergin allowed that he had perhaps misunderstood whoever told him otherwise.
