Peredhel military ranks
Master of War at the top, nine of them, one beside each province prince, with High Commander below
The highest rank in Peredhel’s armies is Master of War. There are nine of them, one beside each of the nine province princes.
Below it stands High Commander, and that is the rank Leon Yaegar held before he retired. He named it himself on a walk at Haudh-Gwenn, in the middle of being pressed by Koa on what Peredhel asks of the people it takes (S2E25).
The count follows the country. Peredhel is nine provinces, each under its own elected prince, and above the princes sit three Tarumbar whom the princes elect.
What ranks lie beneath High Commander was never written down, and neither was whether a Master of War commands his province’s forces or only stands at its prince’s elbow.
