Places of Record

Every place the company has set foot in, from a room behind a shopfront to a whole nation, and a few known only by name.

The company’s ground is not large. Most of what it knows lies in Idir, the grassland of city-states at the center of Erôth, and most of that in two of them: Loshev, the trade town the three woke in, and Haudh-Gwenn, the nearest thing the region has to a capital. Peredhel encloses Idir on every side, and the party has never once crossed into it.

The scale runs the whole way down. A nation is here and so is one of its provinces; a river, a forest, a bridge and a stretch of road; a town, a district of ruins inside that town, an inn on its main street, and a hospital nobody was told about. The Crack was a slavers’ auction floor and shelters thirty and more freed people now. Wraithblade Keep held its curse until the sunrise the sword carrying it was broken. The Underôth runs beneath all of it, and the Crack is the only way down anybody has found.

Not every place here was walked. Escaria is a country every merchant in Idir trades with and nobody in Idir has been to, and several of its neighbors are the same: named in a ledger, priced in a market, never crossed. What stands under those names is what was said of the place by people who had been there, or who claimed they had.
