Amomar

The eldest of the three Peren who took the company north to Vigil dressed as merchants, and the one who would not talk about the Martyr

STANDING: ALLY · ESCORT ON THE ROAD

One of three Peren who met the company at Haudh-Gwenn’s northern gate at dusk with a covered wagon and two draft horses, and took them north to Vigil. Amomar was the eldest of the three and the one the others deferred to on the road.

Koa rode up alongside early on and asked what they knew of the Martyr, saying he had prayed to her and believed he had been answered. Amomar was the one who took the question. The teachings of the Martyr are engraved in them from a young age, they said. Asked for more than that, they drew a breath and told him the road was long, longer than the day had been, and that there was perhaps some time to dwell in their own thoughts. Koa let it go and dropped back.

They were traveling armed and they were traveling in armor. Koa heard metal moving against metal under the loose merchant clothing before the first hour was out, and placed it on the youngest of the three; Amomar wore theirs more quietly than that, being better practiced at it. Outside the gates all three had swords strapped at their sides, which they had not carried in the city.

The name only surfaced because Hale used it. Called off the road by a sick man in the company, she gave the order to make camp by turning in the saddle and saying it, and Amomar looked briefly baffled, followed her gesture to Aldo, and got down off the horse to unpack.
