Crimson Shroud crew

Dusk, the woman who runs Haudh-Gwenn's dirtiest job-board, and Cricket, the boy who is the way to reach it

STANDING: NEUTRAL · THE CRIMSON SHROUD

The Crimson Shroud is not a guild. Casper, who took work off it for years before he ever met the Valiant Few, put it plainly: there is no place, no hall and no roster, just a couple of people who run it and hand out the jobs nobody advertises. It has been one of the five crews working Haudh-Gwenn for as long as the party have known the city, and it is the one that takes the dirtier work.

Dusk is the woman who runs it. She was Casper’s contact and the whole of his dealing with the outfit, and he never had to go further than her: she would hook him up, and the work came off her. Nothing else of her was ever written down, not her face, not her age, and not where she keeps herself.

Cricket is a boy of about sixteen, and he is the name an outsider gets. Casper had been told a long time ago that anyone wanting the Shroud should look for Cricket, and when the party finally asked him who or what Cricket was, the description he could give them was thin: young lad, and that is most of it. Whether he had taken the running of it over from Dusk by then was never established.

The one piece of the Shroud’s work the party know of came out of Whent under interrogation. The Shroud was paid to make Sarro Rashid’s family disappear after the banker was forced off his own bank, and the family were not killed. They were tucked away somewhere, and the Shroud is the only party that knows where.

That is a thread the company has carried and never pulled. They came away from the interrogation with both names, listed them again on the road to Vigil as one of the things they could go looking into, and went north instead.
