Izha Krumm
Hetman of the Free Folk's Host, a title held for life and revocable at the community's word
The Hetman of the Free Folk’s Host is Izha Krumm, a half-orc woman set over a people who govern themselves by council, camp in tents, and keep no fixed seat anywhere. She heads the body the Free Folk are when they act as one, and those are the people Koa Attila comes from.
Her title is held for life, which among the Host is not the same thing as held securely. A Hetman commonly passes it on once age has told on her; where she does not, the community can take it back and give it to somebody else. Either way the successor is elected by the Council of Many Voices, the assembly of every member of the community summoned to it.
Most of what the office asks is representation and small business. She settles the minor disputes and carries the day-to-day running of the Host, and that is the bulk of it. Military affairs are the exception. In war the Hetman does not speak for the Host, she commands it, and the Host takes Izha Krumm for its commander in fact.
