Hetman

Hetman is the title of the head of the Free Folk’s Host. It is held for life and it can be taken back: a holder who has grown old commonly passes it on, and the community may rescind it in favor of somebody else, the successor being elected by the Council of Many Voices.

The office is mostly representative. Minor disputes and the day-to-day business of the Host are its ordinary work. In military affairs the Hetman is the de-facto commander, and that is where the title carries its weight.

It is held now by Izha Krumm, a half-orc woman.
